We hear the phrase, "God loves you", so often, we forget
to really think about what it means. The Bible teaches us that even though
our lives were in opposition to everything God is, God loved us so much that
He sent His Son to die for us. We didn't have to clean up before He came.
The Bible says He loved us first. Jesus didn't come to condemn, or to give a
standard by which we could condemn others. He came because He loves us...
just as we are.
If you think God does not love you as much as He loves
other people, it is probably because you think He is angry about things you
have done. But the Bible says we have ALL fallen short of God's perfection!
And that is why Jesus came and died - to erase the debt. God doesn't just
have love for you, He IS love!
We are not good enough in ourselves to have a friendship
with God, so through Jesus, God has reached out His hand to every person in
this world. But the act of giving takes both a giver and a receiver. You
have to say yes and tell God you want to accept the free gift to be a part
of His family. Then, the forgiveness God has extended to our world, applies
to you personally... you become a part of His family.
That does not mean God loves you any more than He ever
did. But it does mean that through Jesus, you can have a face to face
relationship to God, coming boldly to His throne of Grace at any time.!
"Oh, life is a glorious cycle of song, A medley of
extemporanea; And love is a thing that can never go wrong". (DP)
