The acid test of our faith in the promises of God is never found in the easy-going, comfortable ways of life, but in the great emergencies, the times of storm and of stress, the days of adversity, when all human aid fails (Ethel Bell)

Dr. Angelo Valleriani states that seeds are living embryos. Ann Wigmore writes in The Sprouting Book, "Seeds are the very core of life. All the energy and life of a plant goes toward making seeds. When air, water, and a suitable temperature are provided, a miracle begins-the seed begins to sprout, and an incredible flow of energy is released." The laws governing seed and harvest on earth mirror the laws responsible for spiritual harvest. Every promise of God is a seed that produces after its own kind. Seeds of faith are always within us; sometimes it takes a crisis to nourish and encourage their growth.

E.W. Kenyon, In His Presence says, "The Father's Word in Jesus' lips accomplished things. It hushed the sea. It quieted the wind. It raised the dead. It fed the multitudes." His Living Word in lips of faith will do the same today. Faith in God is faith in His Word (Matthew 4:4). Every promise of God is a revelation of what He is eager to do for His people (T.L. Osborn). Promises produce miracles.

God gave His word so we will know what to believe. It is impossible to please God without faith and it is impossible to have faith without something to believe in (Hebrews 11:6). Take a look at how promises work. Right before Jesus ascended into heaven He gave His disciples a commandment (Acts 1:4-8), "Wait for the Promise of the Father, which you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." The disciples believed Christ's words. They sought the Lord with their whole hearts and prayed (Acts 1:14; 2:1-4). Finally, about ten days later, the New Testament church was birthed . The promise produced faith in the hearts of Christ's followers. They demonstrated their confidence in Christ and sought Him. They were rewarded for their diligence and received a mighty miracle from the Lord. It worked then and it still works today. T.L. Osborn comments, "Faith in God's word is faith in God. Believe His promises. If you want to build faith in God, feed on His word. Unbelief in His word is unbelief in God Himself. Our attitude towards God's word settles everything."
