What is Typology?
Typology shows history with events within the story acting as symbols for later events. First known use of the word TYPOLOGY was in 1845.
Typology in Christian theology and Biblical exegesis shows the relationship between the Old and New Testaments. The Old testament is the New Testament concealed and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed.
One purpose of the Old Testament for Christians was
to demonstrate that Christ's first coming had been
prophesied and foreseen. The Gospels contain many passages that explicitly and implicitly
link Jesus to old Testament prophecies.
