"In the beginning God created the heaven and earth." Gen. 1:1

Genesis is the GREAT BOOK of GREAT BEGINNINGS! And what a Great opening statement! "in the beginning God created ..." The Title, from the opening line, is from the Hebrew word "reshith" meaning "first or former."

The time is unknown to man. In order that we may have a better understanding of TIME, we must consider that in as much as all things were not created at the same time, we may well know the dates of the beginning of other creations even though we do not know the exact date of this opening statement. A point in case: the beginning of time with Adam. Further along, in the study of the fifth chapter of Genesis, we prove the beginning of time with Adam. You don't believe it? I didn't think you would, so stay with us.

"IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED" ...

What a profound statement! Here is the answer, and the only reasonable explanation of the MYSTERY of the creation of the UNIVERSE. How did it all begin? When and where did it all get started? To these questions and all questions pertaining to Creation, God gives the answer right here in the first statement of His Word. "IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED." When? "in the beginning"! This is a statement no one can deny. There was no witness to refute God's account. Some may put a date tag on it that runs back a million, yes even a trillion years. That's Ok. Go back as far as you like and the answer is still the same "In the beginning God created."

This first verse is the Rubicon (that is the place where an irrevocable decision must be made). The eternal destiny of every man on earth may well be decided right here. Believe this and all the rest of God's Word can easily be accepted.

Reject this and infidelity and unbelief are born.

"By faith we understand the Worlds were framed by the WORD of God." Heb. 11:3

If I can believe that God reached down into nowhere and picked up a handful of nothing and threw it out into nowhere and it became something and the worlds took their place in orbits, and indeterminable space became filled with innumerable bodies, the size of just one of which dwarfs, to a pigmy, my imagination, if I can believe that, then the greatest miracle ever performed in the Word of God is easy to believe, And I believe it, Praise the Lord!

GOD CREATED!!

He created it all. They say 250,000,000 x 250,000,000 bodies of sheer wonder, are hung, like chandeliers of pure beauty, out there in space. And every farther reaching telescope only reveals that the end is not yet.

Oh Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made; I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power through all the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee; How great Thou art. How great Thou art; Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee, How great Thou art. How great thou art.

How true it is that only "a fool has said in his heart there is

NO GOD" Psa. 14:1:53:1 In his search for the solution to the

mystery of the creation of the Universe Man begins just the

opposite from God's starting place. God begins "In the

beginning God." Man begins with the present and searches

back through the ruins of civilization. Through Geology,

archaeology, Biology, and History he searches for God who is

ever more than a prayer away.

"Canst thou by SEARCHING find out God?" Job 11:7

How strange, but how true! His foot-steps are seen in every atom and in the blazing stars a billion light years away.
