"Work joyfully and peacefully, knowing that right thoughts and right efforts will inevitably bring about right results (James Allen)

As water takes on the color of the soil over which it passes, so our character is colored and tinted by the thoughts we think. That is why Paul says in Philippians 4:8, “Dear brothers and sisters … fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” We become what we think, so plant seeds of thought in your mind that will produce positive faith in your life. Through the power of the Holy Spirit we can -- be like a bee that has the ability to extract honey from the bitterest plant. "You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you." (James Lane Allen)

It is the nature of thought to find its way into action (Christian Nevell Bovee). Have you ever closely observed a negative thinking person who sees nothing good in life or people? They have a bad outlook on life because they formed the habit of allowing negative thoughts to dominate their lives. "Great men are they who see that the spiritual is stronger than any material force, that thoughts rule the world." (Ralph Waldo Emerson) You've heard the old expression, “You must learn to make the best of every situation.” Everyone experiences times of difficulty and endures tragedy but the Bible says in Romans 8:28, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” We can look on the bright side of life by focusing on our faith in the Lord. It is not necessary to live under a cloud of despair—God is in control of our destiny. John Milton said, “The mind is its own place, and in itself, can make a heaven of Hell, and a hell of Heaven.”

Harry Emerson Fosdick wrote, “Bitterness imprisons life; love releases it. Bitterness paralyzes life; love empowers it. Bitterness sickens like; love heals it. Bitterness blinds life; love anoints it eyes.” "Kindness in ourselves is the honey that blunts the sting of unkindness in another." (Walter Savage Landor) You cannot defy or escape the law that says, “You will reap what you sow.” What comes out of us is determined by what goes in us. The seed thoughts you sow in your life will produce after their own kind—good creates good and bad creates bad. Romans 12:2 says, “Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is.” Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you'll start having positive results.
